[Giveaway] Sanuk RASTA Sandals

in Giveaways

Earth Day is April 22nd, so I thought we’d celebrate than with an Eco-friendly giveaway! There are so many little things we can do to be more environmentally conscious, and in 2010 Sanuk started a “green” line of shoes called The RASTA Project (Recycled And Sustainable Trade Alliance). The shoes are made from hemp, cork, natural latex and recycled plastic bottles—and they’re cute!

 Sanuk RASTA Sandals

Enter to win these Women’s Rasta Nectar sandals (value: $44) by leaving a comment below and telling me what you do to be “green.”

This contest is now closed. Thanks for entering and congrats to the winner, Kristin C.

Oh my goodness – the kids say I am a horder because I seem to always find another use for everything! Bread ties, plastic bags, bits of ribbon and paper, loose buttons, piece of cloth. My house is NOT a horder house lol but I do have a cabinet with many things in it that can repurpose for other things. You never know when something will come in handy. I do use the Walmart blue bags for groceries and our bank gave some away not long ago too. They come in handy for trips too :) I love Love LOVE these shoes!!!! Size 8 btw :)

To be green we recycle as much as possible, we usually recycle more than we throw out in a week, which is nice. I want to start composting, which would cut that garbage down even further!

What I am doing to be GREEN:
-kitchen compost with my super awesome worm bin
-eat seasonally
-myself and my students only use recycled paper
-my dog eats organic and so do I
-I read books from my library
-walk or bike whenever possible
-I take public transportation when going downtown

I enjoy being GREEN!

On April 22nd, Earth Day, I have volunteered with a group of parents to pick up garbage/refuse in the playground and surrounding areas of my son’s elementary school. It is an annual event including all the students. Good learning environment for all to appreciate our environment and more importantly to do one’s part.

I plant heirloom vegetables, not hybrids, mostly tomatoes and grow them organically. I know exactly what has gone on these veggies as they grow, no chemicals, no pesticides. I am thinking about getting a mini setup for bees to better pollinate my plants and berry bushes.

Sorry for bad English, our native language – Russian.
We live in his house in a village in Belarus. We have no problem not only be green one day a year – April 22, but the whole year:
First, we are vegans
Second, all the waste food goes to the compost
Third, except for winter we always use peat toilet
Fourth, we abandoned the car and switched to e-bikes
Fifth, we abandoned gas heating and heated in winter wood burning stove
Sixth, all paper waste we burn in the stove during the heating season…
One could go further, but this is enough :)
We really liked your site and we have subscribed to your news.

How am I green…well, we use reusable shopping bags and water bottles, recycle everything possible, reuse packing supplies always, use fabric gift bags instead of wrapping paper, use all energy efficient bulbs, walk instead of drive if it’s possible or carpool when we can, cloth napkins & towels instead of paper, and the sketchbooks I use are all recycled and made with windpower! I was all happy when I discovered those, Strathmore makes them.

I hope everyone reads all of these comments, we can all get even more green ideas from each other!
