Easter is around the corner, so I thought these adorable bird’s nest cupcakes were appropriate. All you need is your cupcake ingredients, a bar of chocolate and some candy eggs!

Bird Nest Cupcakes for Easter

Easter bird nest cupcake with PeepI used store-bought cake mix and cream cheese frosting, because I’m lazy, but use your own recipe by all means! To create the nests I cut strips of chocolate and arranged them in a circle. Shredding the chocolate turned out to be impossible. If you don’t have the patience for cutting the chocolate, I suggest covering coconut in chocolate and using that instead. You can also use dried chow mein noodles like this.

Oh, and you can put Peeps on your cupcakes too! Peeps are my favorite, although I only like them when they’ve been sitting out a few days and get chewy. Weird, I know. Enjoy :)

Love theses!!! A potato peeler works great on the chocolate!

Thanks Noreen! I did try a potato peeler, but the problem I had was it made little curls, which were hard to uncurl without breaking. I will have to give it another shot. Happy Easter.

I love this! It’s so easy, yet so effective. I may have to make a couple batches to try out before Easter, just in case !!
