Few things in the world satisfy the taste-buds like bacon. Like Jim Gaffigan says in this clip from King Baby, “The only bad thing about bacon is that it makes you thirsty, for more bacon.” Now, you could make some pretty hors d’oeuvres like this for the Super Bowl, but let’s be real, men don’t care what their food looks like. If you’re hosting Game Day this Sunday, save the fancy appetizers for when your girlfriends come over, and make these instead.

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°.

Step 2: Cut a strip of bacon into thirds and roll the sausage starting from one end. Secure it with a toothpick. I used red and blue toothpicks to make them a little more “game day” appropriate, though they seemed to have turned green and orange in the oven… strange.

Step 3: Line your Little Smokies up on a greased cookie sheet.

Step 4: Sprinkle the brown sugar liberally onto the Little Smokies. It may seem like a lot of sugar, but the salty taste of the bacon will overpower the sugar if you don’t use enough. Seriously, I had to add more to mine.

Step 5: Pop these babies into the oven for 20 minutes, or until the brown sugar has melted and the bacon has begun to crisp. Allow them to cool and serve them on your favorite platter.
